El enigma: aguacero y apagón
Series of five white pencil drawings on dark background, each measuring approximately 9.84 x 11.81 Inches. From a personal perspective, this work seeks to document and reflect on the constant blackouts that affect Venezuela daily lives. In a country where darkness has become an imposed condition, we are forced to live and coexist in dimness, adapting to an uncertain environment.
Through this series, I explore how, in the midst of that darkness, there emerges a possibility to rediscover the beauty of the everyday. In particular, these drawings offer a new appreciation of the rain, observed through the mystery and stillness of a blackout. Thus, the absence of light becomes not only a lack but also a sensory and emotional opportunity: to see what once went unnoticed, to hear what used to fade into the background, and to feel the natural surroundings with greater intensity.
